Glendale Tenants Union is a tenant-led organization

committed to strengthening tenant power and supporting the residents of Glendale. We believe in organizing to prevent rising rents, evictions, and gentrification, and are working every day towards justice for renters and the unhoused in a city where tenants make up 67% of the population.

GTU strives to be inclusive of all people in our community and therefore we do not tolerate racism, homophobia, xenophobia, ageism, or any other form of harassment and oppression.

Our immediate goal is to establish rent stabilization that allows for affordable, healthy and habitable living in Glendale.

Our Values

- Housing and a supportive, stable community are a Human Right. A home is more than a roof over our head. It is being part of a vibrant, safe, stable, and supportive community.

- We Empower Tenants. We realize our rights by building our power as tenants—in all its forms, as individuals and collectively, from the sidewalk, tent, and apartment complex, up to the city and the national level—to win structural change.

- Values Shape Our Organizing . Our values are to be open, inclusive, participatory, democratic, collaborative, supportive, and empathetic. We are committed to working in ways that are consistent with and actively further our values.

If you are a tenant or an ally interested in becoming a member of GTU, or if you have any questions for us, please check out our Get Involved tab and feel free to reach out! We are strong when we are many.
